The Agriculture Department
Tomales High School is part of the Shoreline Unified School District and was established on August 5th, 1912. The agriculture program was started between 1925 and 1926 by Mr. William Reasoner the chapters first FFA Advisor and Instructor. The Tomales FFA Chapter was chartered in October of 1929. Most of the families that signed the original chapter charter still live in the Tomales area and have children involved in the chapter functions. The high school was originally located next to the catholic church over looking the Tomales Valley. In the late 1960's a new high school was built on property donated by the Jensen family to the school district about a mile from the old location. The high school and agriculture department was remodeled in 2011. The program is located on the coast in Marin County approximately 1 1/2 hours drive north of San Francisco. The Tomales FFA Chapter is in the Sonoma Section of the North Coast Region of the California FFA Association.
